Bahadurgarh. After Rohtak, Haryana, now a basketball player has died in Jhajjar also. A young player lost his life when a pole fell on the court. This death also tells the story of the poor condition of the government system.
Actually, the pole under which 15 year old Aman died was very old and had become dilapidated. Its base was destroyed in the war but neither the education department, nor the sports department nor the local administration took care of it. Now after the accident the sports department is admitting its mistake. District Sports Officer Satyendra says that it is our fault because no repair of the pole was done for a long time. He said that a promising player has died which is unfortunate and a matter of shame for us.
He said that a committee will be formed to get all the sports equipment checked and the faulty equipment will be removed. Budget will be sought from the department for installing new equipment. Senior coaches and in-charges of Rajiv Gandhi sports stadiums will be included in the inquiry committee.
Aman was the only brother of two sisters.
Due to the death of 15 year old Aman, his family is completely devastated. There is an atmosphere of mourning at home. Aman was the only brother of two sisters. Was playing and learning basketball for two years. The father starts crying while talking about his son. The last words of his son are echoing in his mind and heart. When he reached PGI Rohtak for treatment, the doctors asked him to get an ultrasound done, but no doctor there took pity on him and his son died in his hands. The family members of deceased Aman have accused the doctors of PGI of negligence. If treatment had been received at the right time, perhaps Aman could have been saved. Before dying, the son had told his father, Papa, give me water to drink. These are the last words, remembering which tears are flowing from the father’s eyes.
