What is Section 303 of BNSS? understand in simple words
- Section 303 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS) 2023 gives a special power to the government. This section gives the central and state governments the right to stop the movement of any prisoner. If the government feels that there may be a danger if a criminal is taken out of jail, then this section is imposed. This includes fear of deterioration in law and order or deterioration of public order.
- After this order the prisoner cannot be transferred out of the jail. The police cannot take him to another city or police station for questioning. He is not taken out even to appear in court. The production of such prisoners takes place through video conferencing. This rule is applied on dreaded gangsters and terrorists so that there is no lapse in security and jail remains their only destination.

Anmol Bishnoi’s NIA remand was ending on Thursday. He was to be produced in Patiala House Court. But in view of the danger, he was not physically brought to the court.
