Saharanpur: Just as the government has opened Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras at various places to provide cheap medicines to the people, now on the same lines the Animal Husbandry Department is also going to open Animal Medicine Centers to sell cheap medicines for animals. The government has given the green signal to open a veterinary medicine center in Saharanpur district. With this, cattle farmers will not have to spend huge amounts on the treatment of animals.
Medicines will be available at less than market rates
Everyday used medicines, vaccines, vitamins and minerals and other veterinary materials will be available at the veterinary center at 50 to 70 percent less than the market rate. With this new system, animal farmers will get financial relief and prevention of diseases occurring in animals will also become easier. Pradhan Mantri Krishak Samriddhi Kendra and cooperative societies will be eligible for Animal Medicine Centre.
What should be the qualification?
For application, it is mandatory to have pharmacist’s registration certificate, drug license, minimum 120 square feet space. The application will have to be made online with the prescribed fee of Rs 5,000. With the opening of the Animal Medicine Centre, animal owners will no longer have to compromise with the health of their animals. Medicines will be available to them at cheap prices and the animals can be given medicines on time. This will also reduce the mortality rate of animals and will put less burden on the pocket of the cattle rearer.
You will not have to compromise with the health of animals
Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. M.P. Singh while talking to Local 18 said that the objective of the scheme is to provide medicines to the animal farmers at affordable rates. There is a plan to open at least one medicine center in every block of the district. It is proposed to open veterinary centers in all 76 veterinary centers of the district in a phased manner. All the necessary medicines will be available at these veterinary medicine centres, the list of which will be updated from time to time by the doctors of the Animal Husbandry Department.
Medicines will be available at low prices
The government, through a new initiative through the Animal Husbandry Department, is trying to provide quality medicines at low cost to the livestock farmers in rural areas through Animal Medicine Centre, because livestock is the main basis of income of the farmers and if their animals remain healthy, their economic condition will be strengthened.
There will be no compromise for the health of animals
Very soon the veterinary medicine center will be expanded to all the blocks. At present the situation is such that when animals fall sick, animal farmers start shying away from getting their animals treated due to the high cost of medicines in the market. Not only this, they compromise the health of the animals by giving incomplete medicines instead of all the medicines prescribed by the doctor. These problems will be prevented by operating the Veterinary Medicine Centre.
