The king family had got the construction done
According to local legends and history, this temple was built in ancient times on the initiative of the royal family of Dokra Katras and Jharia. The form of Mother Goddess was established as Kali. Till today, worship continues here with royal traditions. The royal family had entrusted the responsibility of living and worshiping here to the ancestors of the present priests present in the temple and had donated land for the place of worship. According to the priests, the history of the temple is more than 800 years old and this area has been a major center of worship of Shakti.
Bali happens every day
This is one of the special traditions of this temple. Tradition of offering a sacrifice every day. It is believed that Mother accepts a sacrifice every day and the devotees accept the Prasad of that sacrifice with utmost devotion. This tradition is keeping the faith and loyalty alive even today.

Special attraction: Tying wishes on Rewari tree
A unique belief of the temple attracts people a lot. The Rewari tree located in the temple premises is considered a symbol of wish fulfillment. Local people believe that if a devotee ties a Chunari flower or stone on this tree along with his wish and his wish is fulfilled, then the thing itself falls from the tree and goes into the nearby well.
A huge fair is organized on festivals and New Year
Special worship is performed here on the Amavasya night of Diwali during which thousands of devotees come to have darshan of the Mother Goddess. It is believed that on this night Maa Kalyaneshwari showers her blessings on all the devotees. On the occasion of New Year, this place is famous as a picnic spot along with religious festivals. Not only Jharkhand, but thousands of people from Bihar and Bengal reach here with their families. Every year more than 10 thousand people start the new year with the darshan of Mother Goddess.
