Amla Candy Benefits and Recipe: Amla comes under the category of superfood in both Indian kitchen and Ayurveda. It is considered to be the largest natural source of Vitamin C. Amla is consumed in many ways—like Amla juice, pickle, murabba, laddu, and now the increasingly popular Amla candy. The demand for this tasty, healthy and long-storable candy increases rapidly in winter, as it helps in increasing immunity. The taste of Amla candy is sweet and sour, which both children and adults like very much. It is considered good for stomach and digestion and helps in increasing the immunity of the body. It is also given to children to keep them away from fast food, because it is natural, lightly sweet and energetic. Its consumption prevents minor infections occurring during the winter season. Making Amla candy is very easy. First of all, the gooseberry is washed thoroughly and its seeds are taken out. Then they are cooked in steam for about 10 minutes. Due to this, Amla becomes soft and its strong sourness also reduces. After this, the gooseberry is either cut into small pieces or a light paste is prepared. Mix Amla, sugar or sugar candy in a pan and cook on low flame. When the gooseberry starts shining and the sugar completely dissolves and gets absorbed into it, then it is taken out and dried in the sun for 2-3 days. After drying, a layer of light sugar increases both its attractiveness and taste. Amla candy prepared in this way does not spoil for months.
