During the discussion on SIR in the Lok Sabha, Home Minister Amit Shah said that whenever the history is told to the Congress leaders, they get angry. Referring to the beginning of SIR, he said that the first SIR took place in 1953 during the time of Pt. Nehru, after which SIR also took place in 1957, 1961, and 65-66. He also said that there were only two NDA prime ministers during SIR, and now the next SIR will be in 2025.
