New Delhi. The winter session of Parliament is starting from Monday, 1st December. Earlier, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Saturday that an all-party meeting will be held on Sunday, in which the government will listen to all political parties. Speaking to news agency IANS, Kiren Rijiju said, “There will be an all-party meeting on Sunday and we will listen to everyone there. As far as the bulletin mentioning parliamentary etiquette is concerned, every member is aware of it.” Kiren Rijiju will meet members of both the houses during the all-party meeting.
In the meeting, the government will seek cooperation from all political parties to run the functioning of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha properly. The winter session will run from December 1 to December 19. There are plans to discuss and pass many important laws in the winter session of Parliament. The government wants to begin the winter session with a day-long discussion on ‘Vande Mataram’ as the country celebrates 150 years of the national song.
Let us tell you that recently on November 7, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said, “In 1937, the essential parts of ‘Vande Mataram’, which are the essence of its soul, were removed. Some parts of the song were removed, due to which the seeds of division of the country were sown. Today’s generation needs to understand why so much injustice was done to this great mantra of nation building, because the same divisive thinking remains a big challenge even today.”
The government is also planning to introduce 10 important bills during this session, which include bills related to nuclear energy, higher education, corporate law and securities market. At the same time, the opposition is preparing to strongly oppose the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list being conducted by the Election Commission.
At the same time, on India’s GDP increasing by 8.2 percent, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said, “India has made a great record in GDP. This is a great GDP achievement for the country, which is good for India and also sends a very positive signal across the world. It shows very strong economic performance.”
