In this regard, the State Bank of India has loaded up the advisory issued by the Central Cyber Security and IT Risk Department (CSITE) of RBI on its website. According to this advisory, cyber criminals are committing fraud with people by using mobile number similar to toll free number of banks. Let us know how this fraud can be avoided.

This is how cyber criminals cheat – According to the RBI, cyber criminals would take a number similar to the toll free number of the bank and register it in the name of any bank or financial company on an app like True Caller and when you call or you get a call with the help of True Caller. You become a victim of fraud.

This is cheating like this- Cybercriminals obtain a number similar to the toll free number 1800 123 1234 (not a real number) of a bank or financial company (800 123 1234) to commit fraud. After which the accused register this number in the name of the bank or financial company on the third caller or any other application.
