Bristol. Ajinkya Rahane, the vice-captain of the Indian Test team, is not only focusing on his game, but is also giving tips to female players. Harmanpreet Kaur, the vice-captain of the women’s team, gave this information on Monday. He said that the Indian women’s cricket team, which is preparing to play the first Test in seven years, is mentally prepared to face the strong hosts of England, especially after getting tips from Rahane.
The only Test between India and England women’s cricket teams will be played here from Wednesday, marking the start of the visiting team’s full tour of Britain. India also has to play ODI and T20 International matches on this tour. Harmanpreet said in the online press conference, ‘I have not played much cricket with the red ball, I have played only two Tests. This time we got a chance to talk to Ajinkya Rahane, after listening to him, we understood how to bat in the longer format, we are mentally prepared.
Harmanpreet is a successful batsman in the limited overs format and now she wants to leave her mark in the traditional format. “We try to hit the nets with the right mindset as well. When you are happy you play good cricket. We try to play according to our strong sides. We spoke with Rahane, he is very experienced, we got a chance to talk to him and we did it.

And how to divide your innings into pieces is important. On the possibility of young star batsman Shafali Verma making her Test debut, Harmanpreet said that the team management does not like her game being tampered with.

Harmanpreet said it was important for the players to adjust to the situation in Britain at the earliest as they did not get enough opportunity to practice with the red ball. He played one of his two Tests in England in 2014 in which India registered a memorable victory. When asked about playing Tests after such a long time, he said, ‘As a batsman there is only one attitude, look at the ball and react. I know I have played a lot of T20s and ODIs, not enough experience to play Test cricket but I know it is a game of patience and spending as much time as possible at the crease.
When asked about veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami’s role in the team, Harmanpreet said, “She is someone who always leads by example, gives us wickets whenever we need to.” Harmanpreet is also excited to play Test cricket with the Kookaburra ball. He said, ‘The Kookaburra ball does not feel different, the weight of the ball and both parts feel the same. I think there is not much difference between white and red ball in the case of Kookaburra ball.
