When will I get full refund on ticket cancellation?
The first secret is that there is free cancellation within 24 hours of ticket booking. If you have booked a flight ticket at least 7 days in advance (i.e. 7 days or more before the date of travel), you can cancel the entire ticket free of charge within 24 hours of booking. Full money will be refunded and that too including GST. Whether booked through the airline’s website or through agencies like MakeMyTrip, ClearTrip. Just keep in mind that if there are less than 7 days left from the date of travel, this rule will not apply. Some airlines charge a cancellation charge of Rs 3500 or airfare, whichever is less, if the ticket is canceled 3 days before departure. Whereas if cancellation is done 4 or more days before departure, a cancellation charge of Rs 3000 or the airfare, whichever is less, is deducted from the ticket. Let us tell you that the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued instructions regarding ticket cancellation of passengers.
Free food and drinks if there is a delay of more than 2 hours
Another secret that airlines often hide is that if the flight is delayed by 2 hours or more, the airline itself has to give you free food and juice and tea. For this you just have to go to the counter and give information about it.
If delay is more than 6 hours then full refund or another flight
The third secret is that if the flight is delayed by more than 6 hours then passengers have two options. The first is that the airline will accommodate you on another flight. Secondly, if the next flight is available then they can take it or the airline will refund the entire ticket amount to you. Passengers can choose whatever they want on their own.
If you are late by 6 hours you can stay in a free hotel
The fourth secret is that if the flight is between 8 pm to 3 am, then if it is delayed by more than 6 hours, the airline will have to keep you in a free hotel. Room, food, to and fro taxi – everything is free and very few people know this secret.
The fifth secret is how to claim it. The airline will SMS or email you. If not, then you can directly go to their counter at the airport and talk about it. You can show your flight ticket and if the airline does not agree then you can complain about it.
