In the 90’s, 80’s or 70’s or earlier, when rich men married beautiful young girls, people used to accept it naturally and celebrate it like a festival. Another key difference of Generation Z is that young girls are adopting more liberal beliefs. These women adopt very liberal attitudes towards gender equality, sexual autonomy and voting, whereas young boys of the same generation are still leaning towards conservative thinking.

The biggest irony of the generation of the digital world is that there is a lot of incompatibility between boys and girls. The feelings of both do not match each other. A European study shows that 61 percent of people in the Millennial Generation (born between 1980 and 1995) had a romantic relationship as a teenager, but in Gen Z this figure is less than 40 percent. This is because technology has changed the meaning of real-world dating and friendship. Dating app Bumble has noticed this change and reported that 2024 was the year when generational mixed relationships (i.e. Gen Z relationships with Millennials or Gen X) increased by 63 percent. This means that people have now started giving preference to age gap relationships. Gen Z believes that the biggest reason is the incompatibility between boys and girls of our age. Girls believe that dating at the same age gives rise to a lot of fights in which each other’s ego comes into play. On the other hand, many young men feel behind in studies and society. That’s why they are not interested in real dating. At the same time, girls are afraid of sexual harassment, date rape and anti-women attitudes by men. Due to all these thinking, people of Gen Z give preference to cross generation relationships. They believe that age difference deepens their feelings towards each other.
