Korba News: Pandit Amarnath Trivedi told Local 18 that worshiping Lord Krishna in the month of Margashirsha is very fruitful. According to folk tradition, Mahalakshmi is fasted and worshiped on every Thursday of this month.
Korba. Margashirsha month i.e. Agahan month has special significance in Sanatan Dharma. Lord Shri Krishna himself has described it as the best month in Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta. While Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped on Diwali all over the country, in the folk culture of Chhattisgarh there is a tradition of special worship of Mahalakshmi on every Thursday in the month of Aghan. This ritual is considered so important that it is also called ‘Agahan ki Diwali’. During this time, women keep a strict fast and worship with rituals to please Goddess Mahalakshmi, the presiding deity of food and wealth.
Rangoli is made from flour
There is a religious belief that Goddess Lakshmi resides only in cleanliness. In this tradition it is seen that even after Diwali, special attention is paid to the cleanliness and tidiness of the houses. On the eve of Thursday, women clean their houses and neighborhoods and start decorating them. The most attractive feature of this festival is the rangoli made from rice flour, which is also called ‘Chauk’ or ‘Aipan’ in the local language. Women decorate the courtyard of the house very artistically. After this, footprints (footprints) are carved with rice solution from the main gate to the place of worship as a symbol of Goddess Mahalakshmi. This indicates that Goddess Lakshmi has been invited to enter the house. In the evening, Mahalakshmi is invoked by lighting the traditional lamp, due to which the entire atmosphere becomes devotional.
