Success Story IAS Smriti Mishra: IAS Smriti Mishra, resident of Agra, Uttar Pradesh, got fourth rank in UPSC CSE 2022. He achieved this success in the third attempt. His journey proves that with continuous efforts and smart strategy, even a difficult situation can be transformed into great success.
Smriti completed her schooling in Agra. After this she went to Delhi and did B.Sc. from Miround House of Delhi University. Later he also did LLB from DU. His serious preparation for UPSC started during the Covid lockdown. In 2021, she suffered a setback when she failed in CSAT. There were 120 marks in GS but only 63 marks in CSAT. Achieving fourth All India rank in the third attempt was beyond his own expectations.
How did Smriti Mishra prepare?
While talking to a portal named Indian Master Minds, Smriti told that she followed a disciplined strategy of preparation. She took coaching to guide her notes and constantly consulted standard textbooks, newspapers and magazines. She emphasizes that not just reading, but writing notes increases comprehension and retention. His optional subject was Zoology, which he chose because of his good academic record and confidence to perform well in this subject.

Smriti says that during the UPSC interview, because of her law background, she was asked questions like, “What will you choose, life or law?” Besides, questions related to their detailed application form were also asked.
When to start UPSC preparation?
Smriti Mishra’s advice to UPSC aspirants is to be honest about their efforts. Be patient, and instead of worrying about the result, focus on preparation. She also advises to complete graduation before starting UPSC preparation. He says that do not come under pressure regarding UPSC. First of all prepare your foundation, understand the world a little. This will make the process healthy and the preparation more mature.
