Social media platform X (formerly Twitter) has finally launched a very useful feature for iPhone and iPad users. Now iOS users can add X widgets to their home screen and lock screen. After this new update, users will not need to open the app every time, because important updates will be visible directly on the screen.
X has given information about this feature through its official account. The company has introduced two types of widgets for iOS. One for the home screen and the other for the lock screen. These widgets are available in different sizes, such as small, medium and large, so that users can set them as per their preference and screen space.
The home screen widget has been named ‘X News Highlights’. It gives a glimpse of the trending news and big topics going on on the platform. This will make it easier for users to know what is currently being discussed on X, that too without opening the app.
Whereas Lock Screen Widget gives more control to the users. In this, information related to your notification count, unread messages of X Chat, and activity is shown. This means that even without unlocking the phone, you will know what is the update on X.
Apart from this, X has also introduced separate widgets for Grok AI. One widget allows users to directly open Grok AI chat, while the other widget gives the option to talk to the AI through voice. This feature is especially beneficial for those who want to use AI quickly and easily.
The interesting thing is that Twitter widgets were available on Android long ago, i.e. in 2010 itself. iOS users were waiting for this feature for a long time, the first glimpse of which was shown at WWDC 2020. Now after many years, X has finally made the iOS experience even better.
Overall, the new Widgets make X even faster, smarter and more user-friendly. For iPhone and iPad users, this update can make everyday use much easier.
