Goa Night Club Fire News: A major accident took place in Arpora village of Goa on Saturday night. A massive fire broke out in a night club in North Goa on Saturday night. 25 people died due to this fire. It is being told that this accident happened due to cylinder blast. After this tragic accident, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant visited the spot and ordered an investigation into the matter. In the fire in the night club of North Goa, 23 people died due to suffocation while 2 people died due to burns. A police spokesperson said that 25 people died in a fire in the night club ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ located in Arpora, North Goa. According to the police, the dead include four tourists and 14 night club employees while seven others are being identified. ,Eyewitness said – Red flames were visible far away: On the incident of fire in the club, an eyewitness said, ‘We had just reached our hotel when we saw red flames coming out. When we went and saw, the police were already at the spot and handling the situation. A local man said, ‘We were nearby, but we did not see it at night. The incident is said to have happened around 12 o’clock, but we did not know at that time. I saw the news this morning and immediately reached here. Last night we only heard very loud sirens, but we did not understand what had happened.

I am deeply saddened and express my deepest condolences to all the affected families in this hour of unbearable loss. The Chief Minister ordered to take strict action against those responsible for this incident.
,The CM said that it will be found out whether fire safety rules and building rules were followed or not. Whoever is found guilty, strictest action will be taken against them under the law. Any negligence will be dealt with strictly.

100 people on the dance floor
He said that since it was the weekend, the night club was packed and there were at least 100 people on the dance floor. Sheikh said that after the fire, some tourists started running down and in this stampede went to the kitchen on the ground floor. He further said, ‘They (tourists) got stuck there along with other staff. Many people managed to get out of the club. Within moments, the entire club was engulfed in flames.
What did the eyewitness say?
He said, ‘There was a temporary structure made of palm leaves which caught fire easily.’ The night club is in the backwaters of Arpora river and has narrow entry and exit. Due to narrow streets, the fire brigade could not reach the club and their tankers had to be parked about 400 meters away from the spot. A senior officer of Fire and Emergency Services said that due to the narrow road, it became difficult to reach the spot, which made controlling the fire a difficult task.
Death due to suffocation rather than burning
He said most of the deaths were due to suffocation as the victims were trapped in the basement on the ground floor. There have been a total of 25 deaths, out of which 23 died due to suffocation and 2 due to burning. CM Sawant, who reached the spot after the incident, told reporters that the night club had not followed fire safety norms. Sawant said he would order an inquiry into the incident, while action would be initiated against the club management and officials who allowed the club to function.
Who ran the night club?
Arpora-Nagoa Panchayat Sarpanch Roshan Redkar said that the club was run by Saurav Luthra, who had a fight with his partner. He said, ‘There was a fight between them and they had filed complaints against each other in the panchayat. We inspected the place and found that they did not have permission to build the club. Redkar said that the Panchayat had issued a demolition notice, which was put on hold by the Panchayat Directorate officials.
