Even a person himself does not know when and how his life will turn upside down. When we feel like everything is going against us and we are breaking down. That’s why God keeps creating new paths for us. Something similar happened with a woman living in Scotland who received an unknown email many years ago. When she opened that email, she was shocked because it contained such a secret related to her husband and best friend which changed her life.
Husband was having an affair with his best friend
Gillian begged her husband to end the affair and take some time to save the marriage. She had four children, a 9 and 12 year old son and daughter and four year old twins but the husband clearly said that he would not leave her for another woman. Gillian warned, “If you walk out the door right now, it’s all over.” But he left. At that very moment, something changed inside Gillian. Gillian left her beautiful farmhouse in France and returned to Scotland with her children. He had no job, no money, no place to live. For years, she was busy managing her husband’s business, raising children and running the household, but financial control always remained in his hands.
A book changed my thinking
Gillian did not have money even for this shifting, hence she sold her jewellery. This was the most difficult time of his life but this proved to be the turning point which changed his entire world. A self-development book – “Spiritual Growth: Being Your Higher Self”, completely changed his mindset. He started thinking positively and imagined a new life. Living in an exclusive area of Edinburgh, good schools for the kids, a steady job for myself and then, like a miracle, everything started happening. A friend of 20 years suddenly contacted him and gave him his house and car without any rent. While he was going abroad. Even in a school where admission of children was almost impossible, seats remained vacant. Gillian says- “From that day everything started coming in my favor. I just started being positive and I think life was showing me the path.”
Journey from supermarket to international hypnotherapist
Initially he worked in a supermarket, then in the oil and gas sector but then he found his true calling, clinical hypnotherapy. He took training, started practicing and within no time his clients spread to Singapore and UAE. Today 67-year-old Gillian is a successful hypnotherapist, bestselling author and motivational guide. She has written many self-help books and has helped thousands of people. Gillian says now: “If that affair had not happened, I probably would never have come out. It was a blessing in disguise for me.”
