Twelve people were killed and at least 11 others, including two police officers, were injured in a shooting in Bondi Beach on Sunday.
Footage captured by a witness shows a man struggling with an alleged gunman, before taking his gun.
At a news conference, New South Wales Police Premier Chris Minns said one of the gunmen had been killed and another was in custody.
