Gone: Hard work definitely brings success one day. Today we are going to tell the story of one such youth from Bihar who did not even have two meals to eat. His parents used to work as daily labourers. That young man used to meet the expenses of his education by teaching children. Subsisted on sattu and maize bread. But today he has created history by becoming a sub-inspector in Bihar.
Yes, we are talking about Ravindra Pandit, resident of Kuibar village of Imamganj block of Gaya district. There is a gleaming new house in the village, right next to it there is a mud and thatched house. By staying this way, Ravindra’s parents prepared the ladder for their son’s success. Today Ravindra has a double star on his shoulder. Which is the gift of the struggle of his parents.
Continued studies in poverty by eating sattu
Ravindra’s mother says that when her son studied in Sherghati and Gaya city, the economic situation was worse at that time. Ravidra used to say that mother faces difficulty in cooking while studying. Send Sattu from home, that will do the trick. Ravindra completed his studies by eating maize bread, maad-bhaat and sattu.
Ravindra closely felt the pain, suffering and hard work of his parents. He also left no stone unturned in the struggle. The result is that Ravindra became a police officer. Some people of the village used to taunt that ‘What can a poor’s son do, one day he has to work as a labourer.’ Today the same people are praising him.
There is no land except the house.
Ravindra has recently completed training from Bihar Police Academy, Rajgir. Their posting has also been done. Talking to Local 18, Ravindra tells the story of his parents’ struggle. Since childhood, I used to see my parents working as labourers. There is land in the same amount of space as there is a house. The condition of the family is quite pathetic. Parents taught me in poverty.
He stayed in the village and studied till Intermediate. Graduated from Gaya. After this started preparing for BPSC. Due to poor financial condition, he tried to meet his own expenses. A coaching center was also opened in Gaya city, but it was closed due to Corona.
First job in Railway Group D
After the coaching stopped, the financial situation worsened again. Meanwhile, he gave the Railway Group D examination in 2022 so that he can improve the financial condition of his family by doing a government job. Got a job in Group D also. It was the track man’s job. Stayed in Gujarat for one and a half years and worked there, but had a desire to do something big.
After getting a job in Railways, I left BPSC preparation, but my mother encouraged me. Inspired to become an officer. Last year, filled the form for the post of SI of Bihar Police. He had passed the PITI and Mains exams, but he was not prepared for the physical test. The weight had increased significantly. Worked hard for 2 months. After which he passed the physical. Then when the result came, I had qualified the exam.
This thing of Ravindra is very inspiring
Ravindra Pandit says that poverty is not a hindrance to success, yes it is true that the difficulty will be more than that of ordinary students. You may also have to remain hungry and thirsty. We should not be afraid of old torn clothes, rather we should face those problems. We have to empower ourselves so much that poverty remains behind and does not move ahead of our goals.
No let up in son’s education
Ravindra’s mother Sugiya Devi tells that there came a time when she had to work as a laborer in the construction of the mosque. My husband used to dig the soil and I used to take out the soil and throw it out. During this time, people used to taunt him, but he did not allow any harm in his son’s studies. When my son was studying in Imamganj, he used to say that there is difficulty in cooking, please send me Sattu, we will fill our stomach by eating the same.
Ravindra’s father Bandhan Prajapati still works as a daily wage labourer. There is an atmosphere of happiness in the house today. Both Ravindra’s parents are happy. Village people are coming to congratulate. Ravindra Prajapati is a sub inspector in Bihar Police. His first posting was in Munger district. The parents are very happy with Ravidra’s success, but are unable to stop their tears when they tell the story of his struggle.
