Vaishali/Prabhat Kumar. Vaishali DM Varsha Singh conducted a special surprise inspection of various Anganwadi centres, Public Distribution System (PDS) shops, schools and fertilizer-seed establishments of Panchayat Mahindwara and Sarmastpur under Mahnar block. The objective of this inspection was to ensure effective implementation of government schemes, quality of services and administrative transparency at the grassroots level.
As part of the inspection, Simrachak Fatima Primary School was also inspected by the District Officer. As soon as she reached the school, the district officer mingled among the children and was seen in the role of a teacher. He talked to the children about studies, assessed their understanding and encouraged them by teaching them himself.
DM had meal with children
The children looked very happy and excited by this easy and friendly behavior of the DM. The most emotional and inspiring moment of the inspection came when DM Varsha Singh sat on the ground with the children and personally checked the quality of the midday meal. Sitting on the same level with the children, he tasted the food and seriously assessed its quality, taste, cleanliness and nutritional value. During this, he also took information from the children regarding the regularity, quantity and choice of food.
Clean food is the responsibility of the government.
This scene was a powerful example of the sensitivity and humanitarian approach of the administration, where a senior officer gave top priority to the nutrition and health of children and gave the message that government schemes are not limited to papers only, but it is very important to assess their actual benefits on the ground. The District Officer clarified that it is the responsibility of the administration to provide clean, nutritious and quality food to the children under the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, and any kind of negligence in this will not be tolerated.
