Wildlife Video: Watch how a family of lions take up the challenge of crossing a deep river full of crocodiles in this hair-raising video from BBC Earth. This story of the struggle between life and death of small cubs coming close to death will surprise you.
The law of nature is very cruel and exciting, where a fine line is drawn between life and death at every step. Even the lion, who is called the king in the jungle world, sometimes has to face such challenges, where it is not his strength but his courage and luck that comes into play. This viral video of BBC Earth’s ‘Kingdom’ series has created a sensation on social media, in which a lioness shows courage to cross a dangerous river full of crocodiles with her little cubs. This family of lions standing on the banks of the river knows very well that death is lurking under the water. Entering crocodile territory could be a suicidal move for any animal, but they had no other way to move forward.
In the beginning of the video itself, the lion’s clan can be seen scared and stressed. The lioness herself senses the depth and danger of the water before her children. Behind her are her little cubs, which makes the scene more scary. As soon as the family enters the water, movement starts under the water. It is said about crocodiles that they are hunters hidden under water. Something similar is seen in this video also. As soon as the cubs start swimming in the water, giant crocodiles start moving towards them. The pace of the cubs is slow and the flow of water is tiring them. Here the harshest face of nature is revealed, where the hunter is on the verge of becoming the prey. Every moment you are forced to wait with bated breath to see whether these little creatures will be able to reach the shore safely.
The behavior of the lioness during this conflict is worth watching. She is not only protecting herself from crocodiles, but is also constantly keeping an eye on her cubs. Whenever a crocodile tries to come close, the lioness’s roar and her presence act as a shield. This scene shows that to survive in the forest, physical strength alone is not enough, but mental strength is also equally important. The struggle of the cubs amidst the waves of water and their struggle to reach the shore shakes human emotions. At the end of the video, each member of the lion’s clan reaches the other shore safely. David Attenborough has made this fantastic documentary for BBC Earth. This video reminds us that there is a parallel world away from the human world where we have to struggle for every breath.
