Patna: The passion for cricket has always been at its peak in Bihar, but in the last few years, the identity of Bihar cricket has started becoming not only in the country but all over the world. A big reason for this is also the strong player Vaibhav Suryavanshi. However, not only Vaibhav, there are many players in the Bihar team like Saqibul Ghani, Ayush Loharuka and Bipin Sourav, who have attracted everyone’s attention with their performance in the domestic matches.
People often have this question in their mind that how much match fee do players like Vaibhav Suryavanshi get? Many people are unaware about the earnings of these talented players who have played in Ranji Trophy, Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and other big domestic tournaments. Whereas the reality is that the players participating in these tournaments get handsome match fees fixed under the rules of BCCI.
Players become millionaires as soon as they play domestic cricket.
To find the answer to this question, the Local 18 team had a special conversation with BCA’s Cricket Operations Manager AK Chandan. He told in detail the entire slab of match fees received by the players. According to AK Chandan, BCCI has set different match fees for players playing in different age groups. This fee depends on the number of matches played by the players and the level of the tournament. The special thing is that players are not paid per match, but on per day basis. Their earnings are directly based on the timing of the match.
I get this much fees
Explaining the slab, he said that as per the match fee slab decided by BCCI, the players of the senior men’s team are paid on the basis of their experience in Ranji Trophy. Players who have played 0 to 20 matches get a fee of Rs 40 thousand per day, players who have played 21 to 40 matches get Rs 50 thousand per day, while players with experience of 41 to 60 matches get a fee of Rs 60 thousand per day. A Ranji match lasts for four days. According to this, one gets a minimum of Rs 1,60,000 and a maximum of Rs 2,40,000 for a match.
Similarly, male Under 23 category players are given match fees of Rs 25 thousand per day, Under 19 players are given Rs 20 thousand per day, and Under 16 players are given match fees of Rs 15 thousand per day. Let us tell you that TDS of ten percent is deducted from the match fees of the players and the remaining amount is deposited in their bank account. Later, after filing ITR, the deducted money is also recovered.
You get benefits apart from fees
Not only this, a certain percentage of the gross revenue is also added by BCCI to the earnings of senior players. This additional amount is available only to senior category cricketers. If a player plays all the matches of a season, then apart from the match fee, he also gets a gross revenue of around Rs 7 to 8 lakh. Overall, players playing domestic cricket also earn a good amount. This proves to be extremely beneficial for both their career and future.
