Cyclonic Storm DITWAH: Cyclone Ditwah is wreaking havoc in the Bay of Bengal. 69 people died on Friday due to this storm in Sri Lanka. Now this storm is moving towards India. The Meteorological Department had already issued an alert in five states – Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. All schools, trains, flights and transport services were cancelled.
The Meteorological Department said on Friday that Cyclone Ditwah Slowly moving towards the coast of Tamil Nadu. There is a possibility of heavy rain on Saturday, November 29. The Meteorological Department said that due to Cyclone Ditvah, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Puducherry, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh. Flight and train services including schools and colleges have been stopped. However, the Meteorological Department said that the storm may make landfall in Tamil Nadu on Sunday, November 30. It is not likely to hit the coast directly, but will move through the eastern coastal areas. Also, according to the Meteorological Department, there may be a risk of heavy to very heavy rains, strong winds and floods in cities.
