Agricultural scientist AK Maurya in Bhojpur explained the correct methods of fertilizer management for wheat crop. This will increase the yield and reduce the cost of farming. Balanced use of urea, SSP, MOP is necessary in the field.
Bhojpur. In Bhojpur, Bihar, wheat crop is most important for the farmers in Rabi season. But many times farmers damage their crops due to their inability to use fertilizers properly. Especially, not many farmers have good information about how to apply fertilizer while sowing wheat. Farmers who apply fertilizers in the traditional way now need to change to the new era. Agricultural experts in Bhojpur have advised farmers that if fertilizer management is done properly, the yield can be increased and costs can be reduced. This will also strengthen the economic condition of the farmers.
Apply fertilizer according to this rule
Agricultural scientist AK Maurya told that the quantity of fertilizer per acre for wheat at the time of sowing to the farmers in Bhojpur or surrounding districts should be Urea 65 kg per acre, SSP- 150.0 kg per acre and MOP- 26.7 kg per acre. Another way is that DAP should be- 52.2 kg per acre, Urea- 44.8 kg per acre and MOP- 26.7 kg per acre. When irrigation is done for the first time after sowing, the quantity of urea should be applied at 65.0 kg per acre. For the third time, when ear is formed in Gabha, then the quantity of urea should be given at 65.0 kg per acre.
Crop will get continuous nutrition
According to agricultural scientists, it is not right to add the entire quantity of urea at once. It should be divided into two or three parts so that the crop gets the necessary nutrients from time to time. The first half quantity should be mixed in the field at the time of sowing. The remaining half quantity should be divided into two parts. Apply the first part after the first irrigation when ‘oat’ i.e. light moisture remains in the field and the feet do not sink. The second part should be applied after the second irrigation when the field becomes ‘oat’ again. Due to this, the crop continues to get nutrition.
Apply urea only after irrigation
Agricultural scientist AK Maurya said that farmer brothers should never add urea by flowing it in water or just before irrigation. By doing this, the crop does not get the benefit of urea and about 15 to 20 percent of the fertilizer gets wasted. He told that urea should always be applied after irrigation when there is oat in the field.
