The painful death of a young man during a strange competition organized in America shocked everyone. According to Mirror, this incident happened in 2012, but recently it is in the headlines again. 32-year-old Edward Archbold of Florida lost his life due to suffocation after eating dozens of live cockroaches. Edward, a resident of West Palm Beach, Florida, had come to participate in a competition named “Midnight Madness”. The event was organized as a promotional event by Ben Siegel Reptile Store located in Deerfield Beach. The winner of the competition was to be given a live female python as a prize.

Took part in a strange competition
According to Edward’s girlfriend Natasha Proffitt, he had participated in such insect-eating competitions before and was planning to win the python and give it to a friend. Sarah Bernard, entomology student of Florida University, was also present in that program. He told that the competition was divided into several rounds, and in each round the participants had to eat different insects. In the final round, the participants had to eat 3-4 inch long live cockroaches. Out of about 30 contestants, only Edward fell seriously ill. As soon as the competition was over, Edward started vomiting and suddenly fell down. The organizers immediately called for help, but it was too late. Investigation revealed that pieces of cockroaches got stuck in his throat and airway, due to which he suffocated.
