In this condition, he has to rely on a feeding tube – a device that remains attached to his body for about 20 hours a day – to get adequate nutrition and hydration. After recently having a feeding tube inserted, Bailey’s biggest challenge became getting dressed. It was as if her entire wardrobe had collapsed. Everyday clothes now became uncomfortable, tight and sometimes painful for them.

Difficulty in wearing clothes due to feeding tube
Bailey says, “I had no idea that the feeding tube would affect my ability to wear clothes so much. It became difficult to fit into my old clothes. It became almost impossible to wear tight clothes.” Trouser, tops, dresses, jumpsuits – everything now became things to think about in a new way. She had to think about every piece of clothing, where the tube would sit, how far away the garment would be, whether she would be able to reach the tube easily to take medicine or empty her stomach or not.
