Chhattisgarh Breaking News: A shocking news has come from Bastar region of Chhattisgarh. The Naxalites of the Maoist Madkam Madvi Committee (MMC) zone have decided to completely stop the armed struggle from January 1, 2026. MMC Zone spokesperson Anant has announced this by issuing a press note. Anant has appealed to all the colleagues that no one should surrender alone. Everyone will put down their weapons together and come before the government. He said, “We are not surrendering, but accepting the government’s ‘Poona Margame’ (surrender and rehabilitation) policy. We will move forward only united.”
The Naxalite spokesperson clearly said that giving up weapons is not betrayal of the public. In his words, “Weapons are only a means, not an end. Now is not the time for armed conflict. We are taking this step for the public good.” To maintain mutual contact and coordination among all the partners, Anant has also issued an open radio frequency number, which is being called Baupeng. Any Naxalite can contact on this number.
The most interesting thing is that the Naxalites have openly said, “We will go with the government which will give us the most respect and facilities.” This means that now a kind of competition can start between the central and state governments as to who can woo the Naxalites with their rehabilitation package. After this announcement, security forces and intelligence agencies have become alert in Bastar. The administration believes that if this decision is really implemented, then a big chapter of the Naxal movement that has been going on for decades can end. Many Naxalite families are happy that their children will now be able to return home.
However, some people are also calling it a new strategy of Naxalites. He says that this step is being taken due to increasing pressure from police and army. Nevertheless, the day of January 1, 2026 may prove to be a turning point in the history of Bastar, when hundreds of Naxalites will lay down their arms together and decide to return to the mainstream. Now all eyes are on whether the new dawn of 2026 will give the gift of peace to Bastar or not.
