Breaking News Today Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka on Friday. He will visit the historical Udupi Sri Krishna Math at around 11:30 am. They will also participate in the group chanting program of ‘Lakskanth Geeta’. Prime Minister Modi will be welcomed in the temple in a traditional manner. They will go to Madhav Sarovar, have darshan of the Lord and perform a special puja. Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the Suvarna Tirtha Mandap located in front of the Krishna sanctum and dedicate the Kanak Kavach (Golden Armor) to the sacred Kanakana Kindi. Sugunendra Teertha Swami, the seer of the Synagogue Puttige Math, said on Thursday that after this he will go to the place where more than one lakh devotees will recite the verses of Bhagavad Gita. He further said that the Prime Minister will unveil the ‘Kanak Kavach’ for the divine ‘Kanakana Kindi’ at the Math.
Seer Sugunendra Tirtha Swami said that the Math will offer Suvarna Tirtha Mandap to the Lord through PM Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister will visit Sarvajna Peeth, Gaushala and the new Geeta Mandir. He will talk to all the saints of the eight monasteries in Chandrashala and seek their blessings. He has expressed his desire to taste the special dishes of Udupi including ‘Patroda’. Kanakana Kindi is a holy gate. It is believed that Saint Kanakdas had divine darshan of Lord Krishna from this gate. Shri Krishna Math located in Udupi was established 800 years ago by Shri Madhvacharya, the founder of the dual philosophy of Vedanta. The story of Udupi Kanakana Kindi is related to the 16th century poet-saint Kanakadas, who was denied entry into the Sri Krishna temple. His deep devotion while praying outside shook the temple’s idol of Lord Krishna, which miraculously turned towards him. A crack appeared in the wall through which Kanakdas could see God. This space was later made into a small window, which was named Kanakana Kindi.
