Patna. Bihar’s Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash openly answered the questions raised about his department’s priorities, appointments, allegations of nepotism and his attire at NEWS18 India’s Diamond State Summit. ‘Work will be seen in 100 days… I will complete restoration of 10 thousand posts’
Deepak Prakash said that there are many works in the Panchayati Raj Department which need to be speeded up. He claimed that he would “present major achievements within 100 days.” He said- “I will complete the restoration process on 10,000 posts in my department as soon as possible. Trust me once, I have come to work.” The minister said that strengthening the infrastructure of panchayats, timely monitoring and transparency of development schemes are among his priorities.
Said on familyism, “The party has decided, I have nothing to do with it”
On the allegations of nepotism in his ministerial post, Deepak Prakash clearly said that this matter is completely the decision of the party. He said, “Please do not link it with nepotism. I have been made a minister only after the opinion of the party people. I will make my mark on the basis of my work.” He said that the public is supreme and if they feel that the work is not being done well, then they are free to decide.
Said on oath in jeans and shirt – “I wear only what feels comfortable”
Deepak Prakash gave a very simple answer to the questions raised regarding wearing jeans and shirt in the swearing-in ceremony. He said, “I have to go and work among people. In such a situation, I wear only the clothes that I find comfortable. When I feel like it, I will even wear kurta-pajama.” He said that a leader should not be judged by his clothes, but by his work.
‘Give the public a chance, I will prove myself through work’
Deepak Prakash said that he is one of those ministers who likes fast work and he wants the public to recognize him for his work. He said, “You guys, please give me one chance, if you still don’t like my work then the public is the master.” Overall, Minister Deepak Prakash made it clear that he is serious about bringing rapid improvement in the functioning of Panchayats in the coming months and speeding up a large number of appointments in the state. To stand the test of the public, he also held himself publicly accountable.
