Hong Kong: A terrible fire tragedy has occurred in Hong Kong, known worldwide for its tallest buildings. In which 65 people have lost their lives and about 300 people are still missing. Houses have been burnt to ashes and burnt debris is visible all around. Whoever saw the pictures of this year’s most terrible fire was shocked to the core, but a miracle was seen even in this terrible fire. A person has been found alive after 24 hours in the fire that broke out in Hong Kong’s Wang Fuk Court residential complex.
How was the person brought out alive after 24 hours?
According to local media, the fire department has informed that during the rescue operation at around 8 pm, a person has been pulled out alive from the burnt building. This person was waiting to be rescued on the 16th floor of Wang Tai House and the fire department employees arrived for him like God. He has been admitted to the hospital and the condition of the person is said to be stable.
Let us tell you that about 70 people have been injured in this fire, out of which 10 are firefighters and one worker has also died.
What is the update of the rescue operation?
The fire is still burning but some parts of the complex have been brought under control but now the risk of buildings collapsing has increased. Apart from this, rescue operations are becoming difficult due to the increasing heat inside the buildings. Where many people are still feared trapped.
24 hours have passed since the fire broke out but still terrible smoke is coming out from inside many of the burnt high-rise buildings inside Wang Fuk Court. Fire officials confirmed that the flames in four towers have been extinguished, while three more are under control. However, now people have been warned about the danger of buildings collapsing. The fire department said more than 1,200 firefighters were needed, calling it Hong Kong’s deadliest building fire in more than 50 years.
Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee has announced a ‘one social worker per family’ system for families affected by the disaster. Apart from this, he has said that psychologists will also be deployed for the affected families to provide emotional support.
