Bilaspur. The food of Chhattisgarh is known for its taste, tradition and simplicity. Many traditional dishes here are still prepared in homes in the same way as they were prepared years ago. One such special dish is Papaya Badi Ki Sabzi, which is prepared with great enthusiasm especially in Bilaspur and surrounding rural areas. Its unique taste and nutrition make it special.
Housewife Bhagyavati of Bilaspur district shared the recipe of this special dish. He told Local 18 that first the papaya is fried in oil till it turns golden and then it is taken out and kept separately.
Spicy tadka gives real taste
He said that oil is heated in the same pan and cumin seeds, finely chopped garlic, onion and green chillies are added to it. It is roasted until the onion turns golden. After this, fried papaya is added and cooked on low flame.
Spices and tomatoes make perfect gravy
He further said that now chopped tomatoes are added to it and fried, then salt, red chilli, coriander powder and other spices are added. The mixture is cooked for about 10 minutes until it boils, allowing it to absorb the flavor of the spices.
Bhagyavati said that the prepared papaya badi curry can be served with traditional dishes like roti, rice or fara. This vegetable is not only excellent in taste but is also considered beneficial for health. Let us tell you that even today many dishes are made in the traditional way in Chhattisgarh, whose recipes are followed in other states also.
