On Thursday, Soyuz rocket took off successfully from Baikonur, Kazakhstan. NASA astronaut Chris Williams is involved in this mission. Russian cosmonauts Sergei Mikaev and Sergei Kud-Sverchkov have also accompanied him. This team is going to the International Space Station via Soyuz MS-28 spacecraft. The launch has been a complete success. It is being told that the rocket will connect to the space station just three hours after launch. This mission will last for about eight months. During this time, these passengers will stay in space and do many important research. A big team is already present to welcome them in space. NASA has informed that there are two new faces in this crew. Chris Williams is a physicist and this is his first flight. Russian military pilot Sergei Mikaev has also gone to space for the first time. Whereas Sergei Kud-Sverchkov is experienced. This is his second space journey. These three will remain away from earth for about eight months. There they will work in microgravity and learn new technologies. After reaching the International Space Station, this trio will join the old team. NASA’s Mike Finke and Jenna Cardman are already there. Johnny Kim and Japan’s Kimiya Yui are also with him. Russian cosmonauts Sergei Rizhikov and Alexey Zubritsky are also working there. With the arrival of the new team, the pace of work on the space station will increase further. The main work of Chris Williams will be to do scientific research. They will also demonstrate technology there. Its purpose is to advance human space exploration. NASA says that people living on earth will also benefit from these experiments. This team will return to earth after eight months.
