Himachal Old Pension Yojana: Controversy over Jairam Thakur’s statement on Old Pension Scheme in Himachal Pradesh, Congress accused BJP of closing the scheme, Jairam gave clarification. Jairam had given a statement in the House during the Assembly session in Dharamshala and Congress has tried to corner the BJP on this statement. However, Jayaram has now given clarification regarding the statement.
Shimla. There is a lot of political rhetoric going on in Himachal Pradesh regarding the Old Pension Scheme. Now he has also given clarification regarding the statement given by former CM Jairam Thakur on the first day of the assembly session. However, Congress has started capitalizing on the issue.
In fact, during his address in the assembly session, former CM Jairam Thakur said that when BJP government is formed in the state, Congress will review the decisions taken from the first day of the government. On this, a campaign was made by the Congress Party that BJP will also close the Old Pension Scheme.
Jairam Thakur was seen getting worried on this matter and then on Thursday, on the second day of the Assembly session, he again gave clarification regarding his statement to the media at Tapovan. Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur said that he had not even mentioned the Old Pension Scheme anywhere in his statement. He only said that he would review the decisions. He clearly said that we do not do politics with a sense of revenge. Jayaram said that reviewing does not mean that we will stop the scheme. But his statement is being twisted so that the employees get enraged. He said that he has no such intention.
President of New Pension Scheme Employees Federation, Pradeep Thakur said that we oppose the statement of Jairam Thakur. He said that we had struggled a lot for the old pension and it was restored by the Congress government in the first cabinet. It is well known that he had given statements earlier also regarding the employees. Pradeep said that Jairam Thakur’s statement is irresponsible.
What is Old Pension Scheme
In Himachal Pradesh, the Congress Party had promised to implement the Old Pension Scheme in the state before the assembly elections and then the government has included 1.36 lakh employees in the Old Pension Scheme. Old Pension Scheme had become a big issue in the assembly elections.
