Barabanki News: A dumper went out of control on Barabanki’s Burhwal overbridge, broke the railing and fell directly onto the railway track. At the time of the accident, Amritsar-Saharsa Garib Rath Express was standing on the nearby line, but the train had a narrow escape. Many trains were affected by the accident and railway operations were disrupted.
Barabanki: A major accident was averted on Wednesday night in Ramnagar Kotwali area of Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh. Yes… on the Burhwal Railway Overbridge, a speeding dumper truck suddenly went out of control, broke the railing and fell 25 feet straight onto the railway track. At the time of the accident, no train was passing through the track on which the truck fell, otherwise there could have been huge loss of life.
However, Garib Rath Express going from Amrit to Bihar was standing on the nearby line, which narrowly escaped being hit by this accident. Some debris from the bridge definitely fell on the train, but there was no major damage to the carriages. There was chaos at the spot after this accident.
Driver seriously injured, rescued by police and railway team
According to reports, the driver was trapped inside the truck, which was pulled out by police, RPF and railway officials in a rescue operation and sent to the hospital for first aid. SP Barabanki Arpit Vijayvargiya said that the train is safe in the accident and the Railways has immediately started efforts to smooth train operations by arranging alternative tracks and engines.
