A huge craze for New York style desserts was seen at the Gurugram outlet of Magnolia Bakery. As soon as it opened, there was so much crowd here that long queues of people remained there the whole day. The most excitement was seen about their famous banana pudding, which people stood in line for several minutes to eat.
When a world famous dessert brand comes to India, food lovers are not left behind. The long queues outside the newly opened Magnolia Bakery in Gurugram are proof of this. This bakery, famous for its New York-style desserts and its iconic banana pudding, has now officially reached Delhi-NCR and its excitement is visible right on the streets. Recently, in a video shared by @divyanshu.discovers on Instagram, people were seen standing in a very long line outside the store. This line extended from the front of the store to a long distance, seeing which it is clearly understood how much craze there is among the people about the new taste in Gurugram.
In the video, the creator shows the crowd near Sector 42 and jokingly says that this is “Gurugram ka naya ajooba”. He also seems to be wondering whether this crowd has gathered because of Instagram reels or whether Mongolia Bakery is actually as good as its name suggests. The caption accompanying this video “Gurgaon is not for beginners” perfectly captures the city’s excitement, food culture and passion for adopting new things.
In the comments section of the viral post, people’s reactions included mockery, praise and doubt. Many people praised Magnolia’s dessert, while others took a dig at the huge crowd. Someone jokingly called it “Amiro ki rasmalai”. One user wrote, “Like Mumbai, it will be empty here too after a month.” A surprised person asked, “Do people really stand in line for cake at 11 pm?” Many people called it overhype while some called it poor customer service. At the same time, Magnolia fans were continuously calling its Banana Pudding and Tres Leches as “must try”.
The history of Mongolia Bakery is equally interesting. It started in 1996 on Bleecker Street in New York’s West Village. With time this bakery became popular all over the world and gradually its outlets started opening in India too. Before Gurugram, Mongolia Bakery has established its presence in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai. Its most loved desserts include Tres Leches, Chocolate Cake, Banana Pudding and Caramel Pecan Cheesecake which are loved by customers all over the world.
The opening of the first outlet of Mongolia Bakery in Gurugram has become a big event in itself. The food-loving population of the city has made it even more special with its enthusiasm. Now what remains to be seen is whether this rush and excitement will last for a long time or is it just the initial excitement of the launch. But one thing is certain that Mongolia Bakery has definitely added a new experience of sweetness for the people of Gurugram.
