Around 1985, the Chaurasia family started making pan masala from home and selling it from a kiosk in Kahu Kothi. Initially this was a very small scale work. Gradually he decided to pursue the business of selling pan masala and one after another he became the owner of many brands. Then the trust of customers increased, and their name started spreading. He started a brand named ‘Kamala Pasand’ and kept the price of a packet at just a few paise, but the quality attracted people towards this brand.
Kamal Kishore Chaurasia’s company KP Group took the pan masala business forward with a different strategy and started launching many brands one after the other in the market. In the year 2000, Rajshree Gutkha of KP Group gained a lot of recognition across the country and then everyone in the entire North India became crazy about this Gutkha brand. This business has spread in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and many big cities. KP Group did not limit its business just to this. The company also launched products like KP Surti and Madhuban Pan Masala in the market.

Talking about the net worth of Kamal Kishore Chaurasia, according to media reports, it is between Rs 1500 to 2000 crore (about 180 to 240 million US dollars) by the end of 2025. This figure is an estimate based on his large pan masala company, various investments such as real estate and iron business, and family assets.

Kamal Kishore Chaurasia, owner of Kamla Pasand, is not limited to just the business of pan masala, rather he is a director in at least ten companies. These companies work in different sectors like real estate, food processing, luxury brands and minerals. The total paid-up capital of all these is more than Rs 1,168 crore. His main holdings include Rajshree Zinc Limited and Rajshree Metals and Minerals India Limited, which deal in zinc mining and mineral extraction. This strengthens diversification in their industry. Similarly, Infinite Luxury Brands Private Limited and Olin International Limited handle the business of high-end consumer goods and exports.
Kamal Kishore also has good influence in real estate. He owns companies like DSL Properties Pvt Ltd, Laburnum Realtors Pvt Ltd and Ostrich Buildtech Pvt Ltd, which also includes family properties in posh areas of Delhi like Vasant Vihar. Apart from this, Cal & Local Foods India Limited manufactures health foods and Good Life Forestry Limited focuses on sustainable resources. All these ventures generate an additional profit of around Rs 300 to 500 crore due to increase in the value of equity stakes and real estate in their portfolio. Even though Kamal Kishore himself belonged to a small family, he never considered his business small and always focused on expanding it.
