BJP and TMC are face to face in West Bengal on SIR. BJP Bengal in-charge Amit Malviya made serious allegations against Mamata Banerjee of putting BLO under pressure and irregularities in the voter list.
In Bihar, political swords are being drawn between BJP and TMC regarding SIR. Mamta Banerjee alleges that BJP is forcefully getting people’s names deleted. Its leaders also appealed to the Election Commission. But meanwhile the West Bengal unit of BJP reached the Election Commission. After that, if the claim made by Bengal in-charge Amit Malviya turns out to be true, then it is certain that there will be a political earthquake in Bengal.
After the meeting of West Bengal BJP with the Election Commission, Amit Malviya said that during the SIR, Mamata government and the Chief Minister are putting pressure on BLOs. According to the rules, every BLO should be given Rs 18,000 for this work, but Mamata government is not giving them money. Even data entry operators are not being appointed to help the BLOs. It is clear from Mamata Banerjee’s statement and the attitude of Trinamool workers that BLOs are being intimidated.
These claims will change the game
- Names of deceased persons are being added to the voter list in West Bengal.
- Claim to include names of more than 88 lakh dead people in the list.
- Names of people who have left/migrated from the state are also being added to the voter list.
- Accusation of putting pressure on officials on behalf of Mamata Banerjee.
- Infiltrators are getting documents prepared by showing false relationship.
- It is claimed that cases have come to light even calling father-in-law as father.
- At some places the age of the mother appears to be less than that of the son.
- Many junior officers have been made AERO and ERO.
What did BJP say to the Election Commission?
West Bengal BJP leaders asked the Election Commission to send independent observers. The Election Commission should assure the Matua community and other Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, Christians who have come from Bangladesh that their names are safely added during the SIR and they do not face any inconvenience.
