Aloo Ki Kheti: The risk of blight disease has increased in the early potato crop. Its symptoms are brown spots and fungus on new leaves. Agriculture officials are advising farmers to spray Mancozeb medicine and give NPK fertilizer so that the crop remains safe.
In Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh, more farmers produce potato crop. These days farmers are sowing potato crops. Some farmers have sown the early crop of potatoes. The farmers who have sown the early potato crop have already seen potato leaves in their crop. In this, the first disease that occurs is leaf blight. Due to which the potato crop is not prepared properly. Due to which crop production reduces and farmers have to suffer huge losses. For this, farmers should immediately take information from the Agriculture Department and spray the medicine. So that the crop can be protected.
To identify the potato blight disease, the farmer has to observe the appearance of brown spots on the new leaves of the potato that emerge. Brown spots start appearing on potato leaves. Which are often surrounded by a yellow circle. As the disease progresses, these spots turn black on the edges of the leaves or the entire leaf and also appear on the stems. A layer of white fungus starts appearing on the surface of the leaves and the potato plant may rot and fall.
Farmer officer Ali told that after sowing potatoes, the farmer needs to take great care of the crops. The farmer said that if there is a disease in the crop, then insecticides should be sprayed on the crops from the agricultural seed warehouse on time. For this, after getting information from the Agriculture Department, medicine should be applied in potato fields. So that the crop does not get damaged.
Agriculture officer Mohanlal said that farmers have sown early potatoes. This sowing has been done about a month ago and now at this time the stems and leaves of the potato have also started emerging. The biggest disease affecting potato crop is called blight. There are two types of diseases in potato crop, one in early potato crop and the other in late potato crop. Most of the complaints of blight occur in early potato crops. To avoid this disease, a medicine called Mancozeb is used at the rate of 250 grams per one bigha. Mix this medicine in water solution and spray it in the entire fields. With this, blight disease in crops is completely eliminated.
Agriculture Officer Mohanlal said that to identify the blight disease in potato crop, the leaves emerging in the beginning of the potato crop become brown in circular shape and this disease starts spreading gradually throughout the leaves. In this way the potato plants gradually dry up and die completely. It also affects the emerging tubers of potato. Due to this the potato tuber stops growing. For this, farmers should use Mancozeb 74% medicine. With this, the diseases affecting crops will be completely eliminated.
For the growth of tubers in the potato crop, 12-15 kg NPK is a combination of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash per bigha. He meets the society because potash is very important for the potato crop.
