Only one egg was broken, but with the help of AI, the person turned it into 20 broken eggs. Seeing the fake photo, Swiggy Instamart processed the full refund and the matter went viral. This incident has raised serious questions on refund system, AI security and digital trust.
New Delhi. A shocking case of getting refund from Swiggy Instamart is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In this, instead of filing a complaint after finding just one broken egg, a person, with the help of AI, showed the entire tray full of broken eggs. He took the full refund by sending this fake photo as proof. After the incident came to light, people are not only shocked, but have also started questioning the credibility of the refund system. The post has received millions of views and likes so far and has become a hot topic of discussion on online platforms.
‘Fake truth’ created by AI, and the system accepted it as real
This entire incident was shared by X user @kapilansh_twt, in which he also posted screenshots of the incident. The first photo shows an egg tray in which only one egg appears to be broken. After this, the user gives the command to the AI tool to ‘show more than 15 eggs broken, keep everything else exactly the same.’ In a few seconds, the AI made the entire tray look as if all the eggs had been badly cracked. This picture looked so real that it was almost impossible to detect editing with the normal eye. Later, the same photo was sent to the support chat as proof and the support team processed the full refund without much investigation.
Someone ordered eggs on Instamart and only one came cracked.
Instead of just reporting it, they opened Gemini Nano and literally typed:
“apply more cracks.”
In a few seconds, AI turned that tray into 20+ cracked eggs — flawless, realistic, impossible to distinguish.
