Patna. The first cabinet meeting of the new double engine government in Bihar has brought happiness back on the faces of sugarcane farmers. In the meeting held on Tuesday, the proposal to restart 9 closed sugar mills of the state and open new sugar mills was approved. This decision is considered very important for the sugarcane industry, agricultural economy and rural employment. After the cabinet decision, Sugarcane Industry Minister Sanjay Paswan looked excited. Talking to News 18, he said – “As soon as we came to the ministry, we got good news. Such a big decision regarding sugar mills in the first cabinet is historic. This day is very auspicious for Bihar and farmers. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s aim is to increase the income of farmers and provide employment to the youth.” Sanjay Paswan assured that in the coming months there will be a big change in the economic condition of sugarcane farmers. He said that after the opening of closed sugar mills and the opening of new sugar mills, a large number of jobs will come in the sugarcane department. He also said that the Chief Minister’s aim is to stop migration and create employment in the state and the sugarcane industry will make a big contribution in this direction. According to the Sugarcane Minister, a committee has already been formed to revive the closed mills and the report on new mills will also be ready soon. He expressed hope that “a good beginning has been made, and the results will also be very good.”
