BPSC Vacancy: There is going to be bumper recruitment for the post of librarian in higher secondary schools of Bihar. According to reports, the roster is expected to be cleared by the end of January 2026 and after removing all the technical shortcomings, the vacancy is expected to be sent to Bihar Public Service Commission. Meanwhile, Bihar Education Department has requested the Finance Department to determine the salary of the librarian. After the salary is fixed, the reinstatement process will speed up.
According to reports, Bihar Education Department estimates that about four thousand librarians may be reinstated. The appointment of librarian will be on the lines of school assistant. For this, the state government has recently approved Bihar School Librarian Rules 2025.
What will be the salary of the librarian?
It is being told that the pay scale of the librarian will be similar to that of high school teachers. The competitive examination for appointment will be conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission. This exam will be of 100 marks, in which multiple choice questions will be asked. There will be no minus marking in the exam. Like government employees, they will also get the benefit of the new pension scheme.
Librarian was appointed in the high school in 2010
For the first time in Bihar, rules for the appointment of librarians in high schools were made in 2008. Under this, applications were taken for appointment to 2596 posts on contract basis. This process was completed in 2010-11. Out of these, 2100 librarians are working.
