Sheikhpura: A painful road accident took place in the district on Monday morning. A speeding truck hit the auto hard on Maniyanda main road in Chevada police station area. The accident was so horrific that 6 people died on the spot. While 9 people were badly injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the people traveling in the auto were going towards a nearby village for some work, when the truck coming from the front went out of control and crushed the auto. Hearing the sound of the collision, people nearby ran and pulled out the injured.
After the incident, there was huge anger among the people of the area. People blocked the road demanding the arrest of the truck driver and compensation for the victims’ families. Due to the jam, there was a long queue of vehicles on both sides.
As soon as the information was received, Chevada police station reached the spot and tried to clear the jam by convincing the people. Police have seized the truck and are searching for the driver. All the injured were immediately admitted to Sheikhpura Sadar Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. Many injured are said to be serious. There is a wave of mourning in the entire area due to the accident. Local people are demanding increased security on the roads and strict monitoring of heavy vehicles.
