Lakhimpur Khiri News: Under a unique tradition, a tamarind tree was married to a well in Bhairampur village of Lakhimpur Khiri with great pomp. The villagers took out a procession, performed rituals and organized a feast. This tradition has been going on since 1960, which was repeated again in 2024.
A unique wedding is now being discussed rapidly in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. This marriage is not between a boy and a girl. In this marriage, the tamarind tree has been made the bride and the well has been made the groom. The procession was taken out with great pomp. There was a lot of enthusiasm about this marriage among the villagers. The whole matter is of Bhairampur village of Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. In this village, the villagers made the tamarind tree a bride and got it married to the well. All the marriage rituals were completed as per the rules and regulations. The wedding guests also danced vigorously on DJ sound. Everyone also ate food at the wedding banquet. There was a lot of enthusiasm among the villagers regarding this unique tradition.
According to the information received, Pandit Kripa Shankar made an effigy of a groom-like well from mango wood, after which he decorated it with a garland, turban and tied a thread. After that, the end of the thread was tied to the bride’s tamarind plant in a mango orchard 400 meters away. The people of Imli’s side made Imli wear all the wedding things. The people of Kuan Paksha took out a procession with great pomp in the village.
What is this unique wedding tradition?
Jagannath Prasad Yadav tells that in 1960, the well of village resident Khushiram Yadav was married to Tamarind. After this, Tamarind was married to Kuan in 1995. Later, during the division among the sons of Khushiram Yadav, the well came into the share of one son. Due to this, women started facing difficulties in completing the marriage rituals. The tamarind tree in the garden had become extinct due to termites in the soil. Due to this, it was decided to bring a tamarind plant and plant it in the mango orchard in the year 2024 and marry the tamarind to the well at the village intersection. After that this unique marriage was organized. A large number of villagers were present on this occasion.
