IMD Weather News Today: The new weather system forming in the Bay of Bengal is becoming increasingly active and may take the form of a major cyclonic threat in the coming days. On the other hand, the cyclonic circulation formed in the south-east Arabian Sea is also increasing the tension. Due to this reason the weather is likely to deteriorate rapidly.
What the Indian Meteorological Department was fearing now seems to be coming true. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the new weather system forming in the Bay of Bengal is becoming increasingly active and it may take the form of a major cyclonic threat in the coming days. In the latest weather update released by IMD, it has been said that the low pressure area near Malaysia and the Strait of Malacca currently remains there and the cyclonic circulation associated with it is active up to a height of 7.6 kilometers. It is estimated that this system will move west-northwestwards and turn into a depression over the South Andaman Sea in the next 24 hours and thereafter may intensify into a cyclonic storm over the South Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours.
Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation of upper air continues in and around the Comorin area, due to which there is every possibility of formation of another low pressure area near the Comorin area, South-West Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka around November 25. This system may become more active later. At the same time, the cyclonic circulation in the south-east Arabian Sea is still intact. Due to the simultaneous activity of these three different weather systems, the weather in South India and the surrounding maritime areas is deteriorating rapidly.
⚠️ IMD Weather Warning – Stay Alert!
A low-pressure system near Malaysia & the Strait of Malacca is likely to intensify into a depression over the South Andaman Sea within 24 hours. Expect heavy rain, strong winds & rough seas in the region.
