Karnataka Congress Crisis: The crisis of Karnataka Congress has now reached Delhi court. Dozens of Congress MLAs are camping in Delhi. These MLAs are said to be supporters of Deputy CM DK Shivkumar. He wants to meet the party leadership and know its stand regarding changing the CM in the state.
Karnataka Congress Crisis: Another big crisis has come before the Congress, which had suffered a bad defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections a few days ago. The party now faces the challenge of saving its last big fort. Actually, we are talking about Karnataka, where the fight between the current Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar for the post of CM has reached the Delhi court. The DK Shivkumar camp has become aggressive and wants the party leadership to fulfill its alleged promise. DK Shivkumar camp says that after the results of assembly elections in 2023, the party leadership had given the formula of CM for two and a half years. But, the Siddaramaiah camp denies any such formula. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah has completed two and a half years as CM. On the other hand, DK Shivkumar camp has become aggressive.
According to the report, dozens of MLAs close to DK Shivkumar are camping in Delhi since Sunday night. He wants to meet the party high command. However, till now he has not had any meeting with the party high command i.e. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi or party president Mallikarjun Kharge. The MLAs camping in Delhi also tried to meet party general secretary organization KC Venugopal and general secretary in-charge of Karnataka Randeep Surjewala, but no such meeting could be held. While talking to StuffUnknown, these MLAs have said that they have come to Delhi so that they can know the clear situation from the party high command.
Siddaramaiah and DK visit Delhi
After the results of Bihar Assembly elections were declared on November 14, both CM Siddaramaiah and DK Shivkumar visited Delhi. Siddaramaiah had also met Rahul Gandhi. While talking to the media, he had said that there was no discussion regarding cabinet expansion in the state. At the same time DK Shivakumar had met party president Kharge. Meanwhile, news also came that DK Shivkumar’s camp is indirectly in contact with BJP. However, the Karnataka BJP leadership had denied any such possibility.
For Congress, Karnataka is the only big state where it is in government on its own. Apart from Karnataka, the party has governments in Telangana and Himachal Pradesh. Both these states are relatively small. But now the internal tussle within the Karnataka Congress has also posed a threat to the future of this government. Siddaramaiah wants to remain on the post of CM for the entire tenure. He is the tallest leader of the party in the state. He has been CM for about eight years. He was the leader of opposition in the state for five years. Due to this stubborn stand of Siddaramaiah, the party high command is stuck in a dilemma. DK Shivkumar is a fighting leader of the party. He is the state Congress president and had an important role in bringing the party to power in the last 2023 assembly elections.
