Sambhal News: First anniversary of Sambhal violence today
Lucknow/Sambhal. Exactly one year ago, on 24 November 2024, on the first anniversary of the violence that broke out during the Shahi Jama Masjid survey, the Sambhal district administration and police are fully prepared. Heavy police force has been deployed in the city. Joint teams of three sections, PAC, RRF and local police are conducting flag marches in sensitive areas. On the other hand, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is reaching Ayodhya on Monday. He will take stock of the preparations for the Ram Mandir flag hoisting program on Tuesday.
Police have so far arrested a total of 133 accused in 12 cases related to violence. Of these, more than 70 accused are still in jail while the rest are either on bail or have been sent to jail after appearing in the court. Many big names including SP MP Ziaur Rehman Barke and notorious fugitive criminal Shariq Sata are also accused in these cases. The Yogi government’s police is aggressively prosecuting these cases registered under strict sections of the BNS (Indian Judicial Code). Special instructions have been given to the government lawyers that the culprits should be punished at any cost. Officials claim that soon in many cases the chargesheet will be completed and the trial will begin.
After the violence, the Yogi government has worked on a large scale to make the security system of Sambhal impenetrable. Two new police stations were created, 33 new police posts and 5 outposts established, a state-of-the-art control room equipped with more than 250 high-resolution CCTV cameras has been made operational and 24×7 surveillance is being carried out across the city.
SP Sambhal KK Bishnoi has appealed to the general public to spend today like normal days, open shops and go about their business. Also warned that if any person tries to spread rumors or spoil the atmosphere, then strictest action will be taken against him. It is noteworthy that since independence till 24 November 2024, a total of 17 communal riots had taken place in Sambhal, but no accused was punished in even a single case. Many cases were withdrawn by the then governments and witnesses in many cases had turned hostile. For the first time, Sambhal Police is working so seriously to punish those accused of a riot. There is peace in the city at present. Markets have been open since morning and people are going to their work like normal days. Police claim that no untoward incident will be allowed to happen on the anniversary of Sambhal violence.
