Local people believe that centuries ago it was established as a small pagoda, and the earthen mounds built around it used to protect the temple. The people of the village consider him as “protector”. The temple became more beautiful after rejuvenation
With time the temple structures had become obsolete and the lack of facilities was evident. Keeping this in mind, the Uttar Pradesh government started a plan to rejuvenate the temple. The main sanctum sanctorum was strengthened, a new courtyard was constructed, sanitation arrangements were made and the route from the main entrance to the parikrama site was made safe and accessible.
Today, the new look of Madiya Mahadev Temple not only strengthens the religious identity of the city, but also gives the message that tradition remains safe only when it is taken care of. The Madiyas of old times are still present on the border of the temple, but now the security of the temple is based not only on the Madiyas but also on strong structure, systematic management and modern system.
