Surguja. An ex-serviceman living in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh has done such wonders in the fields with his hard work and dedication, which is now being talked about far and wide. When he returned to his village after serving the country for 24 years, he stayed at home for almost two years. During this time, a friend advised him to take up farming, after which he learned modern and organic farming techniques in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mysore and never looked back. He started with the cultivation of litchi, but within a short time he also tried his hand in the cultivation of avocado, dragon fruit and pear. Today the situation is that the fruits prepared in their fields are being sent to many states of the country, where there is good demand for them.
The specialty of this ex-serviceman who does organic farming is that he neither uses chemical fertilizers in fruits nor in vegetables. According to the season, he also grows different types of vegetables, which he uses at home and also sells in the market. He says that now he only needs to buy salt from the market, the rest of his needs are fulfilled by organic farming. This is the reason that their plants are healthy, fit and chemical-free. Along with this, they also provide free advice to nearby farmers and motivate them to adopt organic farming, although still very few people are moving in this direction.

Dozens of fruits in the field from litchi to dragon fruit
He told that almost all types of fruits are grown in his farm including litchi, avocado, dragon fruit, pear, sapota, pomegranate. “Almost all the fruits you name can be found in my farm,” he said smilingly. Fresh and pure fruits are available from the farm every season.
100% organic farming, no fertilizers, no sprays, no chemicals
Uncle told that he does not use any kind of chemical in his farm. No spray, no chemical fertilizer.
“Everything is prepared naturally – cow dung, dry leaves, vegetable peels… it makes such good fertilizer that it meets the needs of my entire farm,” he said – except turmeric and salt, we produce everything else like rice, wheat, ginger, pickles, chillies ourselves.
Dragon fruit avocado supply to Nagpur Raipur
He told that the dragon fruit and avocado grown in his farm is supplied to Nagpur and Raipur. The highest demand for pear is in Garhwa Road area of Bihar.
Provide free training to those learning farming
Uncle says that whoever wants to learn farming, he teaches it for free. “I always say, learn, imitate, eat your own and live a long life. Nowadays most of the goods in the market are cooked with chemicals, hence only natural farming gives real health.”
