Mushroom Farmers: Agriculture Minister Ramkripal Yadav, while giving information through his Facebook post, said that mushroom farmers will get only 55 paise per unit electricity like normal farmers. From April 1, mushroom producing farmers will get electricity many times cheaper than the current rate.
The government is going to provide big relief to the farmers cultivating mushrooms in Bihar. Mushroom producing farmers are till now getting electricity at commercial rates. The government has decided to provide cheap electricity to mushroom cultivators like normal farmers. Farmers doing mushroom cultivation will have to pay electricity bill only at the rate of 55 paise per unit like normal farmers.
Electricity rates are different in rural and urban areas. Mushroom producing farmers in rural areas have to pay electricity bill at a subsidized rate of Rs 3.35 per unit for consumption between one to 100 units and Rs 4.21 per unit for consumption more than 100 units. Whereas in urban areas, mushroom producing farmers up to five kilowatts have to pay the electricity bill at a subsidized rate of Rs 5.67 per unit.
Electricity will be available only at 55 paise per unit
Giving information through his Facebook post, Agriculture Minister Ramkripal Yadav said that mushroom farmers will get only 55 paise per unit electricity like normal farmers. From April 1, mushroom producing farmers will get many times cheaper electricity than the current rate and this will benefit the farmers. There will be an increase in the attraction of farmers towards mushroom production and their income will improve.
Provides up to 90 percent subsidy to farmers
The condition of mushroom cultivation in Bihar is good. The state has now become the leading producer of the country. Bihar contributes 11 percent to the production in the country. Bihar has secured the first position by defeating Odisha. The state government already gives subsidy up to 90 percent to the farmers cultivating mushrooms among other items. Due to this, self-employment opportunities are increasing for women and youth in rural areas. Districts like Gaya, Bhojpur have become major centers in mushroom production.
