Lakhisarai District Sports Officer Mrinal Ranjan said that the government is running many schemes to help the players. Which includes inspiration, enablement and progress. These schemes are being run to encourage and motivate the talented players. District Sports Officer said that a scheme called Prerna is run at the grassroots level for talented players. In which players who have won medals in any competition. Also, if he is selected by a national or international sports coach, sports administrator and sports scientist nominated by BCA, then he can avail the benefits of this scheme. Under this scheme, financial assistance up to Rs 3 lakh is provided every year to a maximum of 500 players.
Rs 20 lakh will be given in this scheme
District Sports Officer said that apart from this, a scheme called Saksham is run by the government. Capable includes those athletes who have participated in a recognized international level competition and have won a medal in the All India University Games, have secured a top four position in team games at the national level, or have won a medal in a junior national competition organized by a recognized national federation. They will be provided assistance up to Rs 5 lakh every year. In this, financial assistance is given to maximum 200 players every year.
Those players who have won a medal in a senior national competition, or have been a medal winner or participated in a senior international competition, are provided financial assistance of up to Rs 20 lakh every year. Assistance is provided to 25 such players every year. He told that online applications have been invited for this. After this, those players will be evaluated and after their names are selected by a three-member high level committee, they will be given financial assistance.

District Sports Officer said that under these three schemes, financial assistance is provided in 24 sports. Which includes Athletics, Badminton, Cycling, Fencing, Kabaddi, Para Sports, Rugby, Sepak Takraw, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Weightlifting, Wrestling, Football, Archery, Boxing, Chess, Deaf and Special Sports, Hockey, Lawn Ball, Shooting, Water Sports and Wushu. In this, equipment kit, coaching, training, travel allowance, training abroad and many other expenses are provided by the government.
