According to the Panchang, Paush Shukla Chaturthi Tithi will start on December 23 at 12:12 pm and end on December 24 at 1:11 pm.

According to Pandit Deeplal Jaipuri, on the basis of Udayatithi, Vinayak Chaturthi fast will be observed on Wednesday, 24th December. Since Wednesday is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, fasting and worshiping on this day gives double the results. Vinayak Chaturthi is also called Vighneshwar Chaturthi. By fasting and worshiping Ganesh as per the rituals on this day, all obstacles and hindrances in life are removed. On Vinayak Chaturthi, Harshana Yoga will last from morning till 4:02 pm. Pandit Deeplal tells that the last Vinayak Chaturthi of this year is Bhadra and Panchak. Bhadra will start from 7:11 am in the morning and will continue till 01:11 pm. On the day of Vinayak Chaturthi, Rahukaal will be from 12:21 pm to 01:38 pm. Panchak will last from 07:46 pm till 07:12 am the next day on 25th December. Fasting and worshiping Ganesh on the day of Vinayak Chaturthi increases auspiciousness in life. By the grace of Lord Ganesha, all tasks are successful and troubles are resolved. On this day, offer Durva to Lord Ganesha during worship. However, seeing the moon is prohibited on this day. The auspicious time for worship of Vinayak Chaturthi is from 11:19 am to 1:11 pm. During this period, the auspicious time will be from 11:03 am to 12:21 pm. Brahma Muhurta is from 05:22 pm to 06:16 pm. Abhijeet is not auspicious.
